Rajapuram (Kasargod): Pulikode waterfalls at Kottodi, near here, is drawing tourists in droves. Many people are visiting the spot to enjoy this spectacular view, a gift of the monsoon season.
The waterfall is formed by a set of water channels flowing from areas like Prayampallam, Chulli, and Kollampana. Water from all of them falls from a height of around 40 feet.
Bedadka panchayat has launched efforts to invite the attention of tourists to the waterfall, which is situated in a border village, and thereby boost the tourism potential of the panchayat. As part of this, a rain trip was organised to Pulikode. Tourists currently come to know about this waterfall from the social media.
Pulikode waterfall is so safe that even children can visit the spot. The district can plan monsoon tourism projects including Pulikode. A package also comprising Ranipuram eco-tourism centre can attract local as well as foreign tourists, opine tour operators.
To reach Pulikode, one should travel 26 km from Kanhangad via Chullikkara and Kottodi. Those coming from Kasargod should take Pallathunkal, Kollampana route.
If the Tourism Department takes over Pulikode waterfall, which is gorgeous than the Athirampuzha waterfall, it will help the tourism sector in the district to take a leap.
