Mogral riverside beckoning tourists to see the natural beauty
Kumbla (Kasaragod): Mogral riverside and beach are opening huge possibilities of tourism in the district. Quite a number of people used to come to these areas to enjoy the beauty of nature during the evenings before the pandemic outbreak.
The waterside lies at a 3-kilometre length from Nangi to Koppalam including many places in Mogral. Years ago, the fisherfolk and fish sale had given this place an atmosphere of a sea port. Also there were many ferry boat services in the river.
However, after the water transport was switched to road transport, all these faded into memory. Mogral riverside and beach can be converted into an ideal tourism spot through foresighted actions.
Ananthapuram Padmanabhaswamy Lake Temple, Bela Christian church, Kidoor bird sanctuary in Puthige and Arikady fort here are only a few kilometres away and can attract tourists.
Boat jetty and refresh centres also will give a new experience for the visitors. They should also be given a chance to get familiar with the traditional methods of healthcare and cultural and historical heritage.
