Kerala to promote monsoon tourism with ‘video capsules’
Kochi: The Kerala tourism department is gearing up to create video capsules to promote the state and attract tourists. The capsule videos will be created in English and Hindi to woo tourists to Kerala.
Domestic tourists from North India are mainly targeted through the video rather than foreigners.
The main projects include monsoon backwater trips in Alappuzha and Kollam, and monsoon forest hikes in Athirappilly and Wayanad. The scope of Ayurveda tourism will also be included.
Monsoon tourism started in 2016 on a pilot basis couldn’t take off due to the flood havoc and Covid pandemic. Hence the department is investigating the scope of social media for promoting Kerala Tourism.
3-minute long 30 videos will be prepared. Rs 85 lakh has been approved by the government for creation of videos. The videos will explore all the sectors of Responsible Tourism. Key tourism points in all districts will be included in the videos along with unexplored regions.
