Eravikulam National Park opens for visitors
Munnar: The Eravikulam National Park that was closed for the past two months due to the breeding season of Nilgiri tahr reopened for visitors on Wednesday. On the first day, 1184 people arrived at the park.
Visitors are allowed entry to the park following Covid protocol. The visiting time is from 8 in the morning to 4 in the evening.
With two months of being shut, over 80 new Nilgiri tahr calves were born here. Last year the number had gone over 100.
During the closed down period, few renovation works were also carried out here.
The authorities expect more visitors to Munnar and the park after the election.
