Chilly mornings, frost welcome tourists in Munnar
Munnar: With the onset of winter, the mornings in Munnar are ice-cold. Thousands of tourists arrive here to experience the wintry mix of cold and frost. The last two days saw a sudden increase in the number of visitors because of Pongal holidays in Tamil Nadu.
Munnar town, Mattupetty road, Anjaam Mile in Rajamala, Rose garden, old Munnar witnessed hours of traffic congestion on the weekends.
Biting cold gripped the Munnar for the fourteenth consecutive day with Chenduvara, Chittuvara, Thenmala and Kundala recording sub-zero temperatures.
Try jet ski at Mattupetty
The tourists reaching Mattupetty can now try jet ski. This new initiative is introduced by Hydel Tourism under the state electricity department in association with Flash Adventures Sports.
One trip jet ski service for two persons costs Rs 500. Tourists themselves are allowed to ride if they know how to or else drivers’ services are available. There are two jet skis in service now at the Mattupetty lake.
