Basic facilities and a new road will boost tourism in Nirmalapuram
Mallappally: Nirmalapuram near Kottangal, a place with rich natural beauty has been lying dormant and rejected by authorities without any developments. Ensuring basic facilities and renovation of the road could boost tourism in this region.
The two-kilometre-long Nirmalapuram–Mannarathara road is owned by the forest department. Once the route is fit for smooth commutation, it becomes a parallel route for Kottayam–Ranni.
Places like Karuvallikkattu, Nagappara and Orakkalppara on this route are potential tourist destinations full of natural beauty. Once the road is clear, more tourists will get attracted to visit these areas.
Tourism developments could bring income and job opportunities for natives of Kottangal and Kottanad panchayats.
