Naduvil: The Thalathanni Cherimavu hillside has turned into a breathtakingly beautiful blanket of white flowers. The flowers could be easily mistaken as snow or balls of cotton as it softly spreads over the grassland. The passer-by’s who are fortunate enough to come across this sight are in for a surprise.
During the afternoons, a slow breeze blows over the grasslands making the flowers move. The gentle movement of the flowers makes it look like small white waves. Cherimavu gives away an unmatchable experience for the people visiting the Western Ghats to explore the wonders of nature.
Thalathannimala is located in the Udhayagiri Panchayat in Kannur district. It falls on the route from Thabore to Josgiri. Kottathalachimala and Thermala are located adjacent to it. The area was partitioned as excess land. It includes private lands as well.
Thalathannimala is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Wild pig, Indian Muntjac, and civets are commonly observed in this area. Hunters often set the place on fire in order to find their prey. During the month of April, the grassland fills with white flowers. The major threat to the Cherimavu hillside is the huge cliffs present here.
