Karalad lake all set to welcome summer vacation rush
Kavumannam: Karalad lake in Wayanad is fully prepared for the summer vacation rush. The main attractions of the lake tourism project, zip lining and wall climbing, have been restarted. Also the children’s park has been reopened after renovation.
Adventure seekers had arrived here in large numbers just to experience the zip line that extends over the lake. But following the clash between DTPC and an individual, the zip line service had stopped. Even though new landing tower was constructed, delay in tender procedures of other equipment led to delay in reopening the zip line.
For almost one year there was no zip line service here and had witnessed considerable decrease in visitors. A cooperative company in Kozhikode has taken the new tender for the zip line. There is no change in the rates.
The lake also offers eight kayaking boats, four pedal boats and two rowing boats. DTPC has informed that bamboo rafting will be in service from April first week.
