The mist-laden hills of Munnar is the abode of Neelakurinji flowers that blooms only once in 12 years. Pulling a purple-blue blanket of flowers over the hillocks, it is wooing a huge crowd to the Iravikulam National Park here.
Apart from Munnar, Neelakurinji is seen at Neelagiri hills, Palani hills, Kadavari, Kanathallur, Rajamala, Marayoor and Silent valley regions. In Tamil Nadu it is seen in Mukurthi National Park in Ootty and Kolukkumalai.
