Monsoon adds beauty to Munnar, visitors flock to enjoy nature
Munnar: Tourists in large number flocked to here after the restrictions placed in tourist spots in Munnar following heavy rains, were withdrawn by the government. Rajamala, Mattupetty, Lakkam, Attukkadu, Kundala and Top Station witnessed heavy rush on Sunday.
Most of the tourists are from Karnataka and Maharashtra.
On Sunday there were around 450 tourists in Rajamala and 250 in Mattupetty.
There was facility to enter into the waterfalls at Lakkam on Marayoor road. However, heavy rains created large pits here government placed restrictions and checked tourists.
Authorities are of the expectation that the tourist spots will spring back to life during the Onam holidays.
