Youth stranded in Lakshadweep amid lockdown, goes viral with seafood cooking videos
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. This was obeyed to the core by Ajinas, a 23-year-old from Punaloor. He was trapped in Lakshadweep when lockdown was imposed in the country. He took this opportunity to increase his followers on Instagram through food videos. There are many people waiting to see the videos.
To be precise, a video of fish curry changed his life. Many posted the video as WhatsApp status and shared on social media increasing his followers from 1k to 21k.
Ajinas, son of deceased Ansari and Suja of Chalekkode, is a mechanical engineer. He had made headlines last August resorting to pan India 88-day bullet ride to create awareness about attacks against children.
He went to Lakshadweep for a 15-day trip on February 29. Mesmerised by the beauty of the island and begging the authorities, he extended his stay for 12 days. Meanwhile, a lockdown was imposed suspending air and water transport.
Ajinas took this opportunity to brush up his cooking skills and learn traditional Lakshadweep cuisines. His fishing videos and seafood cooking videos are a hit. Octopus, varieties of fishes, are mainly the contents he uploads.
One such special item he posted was Lakshadweep special ‘Mulakanni’ a fish curry made of coconut milk, vinegar made of sweet toddy.
According to Ajinas, people of Lakshadweep are so warm and welcoming.
He also promises to his viewers that he will be giving detailed videos of his trip and about how he spent his days in the island.
