Kochi: Minister KT Jaleel appeared before the NIA team which is investigating the gold smuggling case. The minister reached at NIA office here on Thursday around 6 am.
According to reports, NIA summoned the minister for an interrogation related to the gold smuggling case.
Earlier, Enforcement Directorate also interrogated the minister over the case. It is hinted that he is being questioned mainly on the diplomatic baggage taken to Kerala on March 4.
NIA had recorded the statements of many people including the protocol officer. In the statement to NIA, the protocol officer informed that his office did not grant permission for such diplomatic baggage for the last two years. NIA also demanded more documents from the protocol officer.
