Using sanitiser to clean mobile phones has adverse effects
Kochi: Reports reveal that using sanitiser to clean mobile phones may not be a great idea after all. Using sanitiser on mobile phones tampers with the phone’s display, speaker, camera and microphone. The glue used on the display might be removed because of this and may cause damage to the display.
The audio system of the phone might be affected by using sanitiser over the microphone and speaker of the phone. The phone will stop functioning properly after a while. The finger touch system of smartphones including the finger unlocking property might also be affected adversely due to the overuse of sanitisers.
If sanitisers are responsible for the damage caused to the phone, then the mobile companies will consider it as Water Damage, which means that the phone will not be eligible for warranty.
Employees of mobile service centres say that many people use sanitisers extensively to clean their mobile phones. The service centres have come out with a gentle warning that instead of spraying sanitiser all over the phone, the phones must be wiped down properly using a tissue or cotton slightly dabbed with sanitiser.
