BSNL to extend 4G services to more regions
Kochi: The BSNL 4G services will soon be available in more regions. The 4G services will be enabled on 118 more towers in Thodupuzha, Idukki, Kattappana and Nedumkandam SDCI regions apart from the existing six towers.
The BSNL has already started distributing 4G SIM cards in these regions. The equipment for 150 towers have also been setup.
The services will be extended to more places after availing the permit for 4G spectrum. Presently, the 4G services are availed on 3G license.
With the 4G license, the services could be extended to the cities also, apart from the villages. As a prelude to extending the 4G services, BSNL started providing the services in Kavaratti of Lakshadweep. The services were availed for the first time in Udumbanchola region in India.
