Thrissur district admn goes digital in times of corona; applications can be filed via WhatsApp
Thrissur: With the number of COVID-19 cases surging in the state, the Thrissur administration has arranged alternate facilities for the public to file various applications instead of visiting government offices. Applications can be filed via online using services like WhatsApp and email. This is the first time such a system is implemented in the state.
District S Shanavas said that the system is implemented to avoid direct contact between persons and to check the spread of the infection. Applications can also be filed by video call which in turn will be considered as direct applications. Collector, Iringalakuda and Thrissur RDOs and seven Thasildars will accept applications online.
However, in cases where court had instructed for hearing, people will have to appear in person, authorities said.
Even though, the officers are available to collect the applications from public anytime, the social media services are arranged for the convenience of the public, authorities added.
Applications can be filed with Collector at WhatsApp no: 9400044644.
