The e-payment method has brought great relief to the thousands of ordinary people for shopping in local markets and shops.
Customers can purchase goods or avail service without paying any cash as the bank has tied up with shops, fish vendors, taxis, etc.
Using the Coopaisa app, people are seen shopping for groceries or buying fish and has had a tremendous response.
Those with a smartphone can scan the QR Code and exchange money. Those in the possession of an ordinary phone can also use the app with an OTP sent to the phone. The moment the QR code is scanned by the autos or shops, the money gets deducted from the account.
Messages would be transmitted immediately after one finishes the transactions. The app is also available in Google Play Store.
Besides Thenjipalam, the facility is made available at Chelambra, Pallikkal, Peruvallur, Muniyoor and Vallikunnu. Bank president P K Pradeep Menon, vice president T P Thilakan, Srijeeth Mullassery, P Vinod, Kellys George addressed the media.
