Thrissur native designs jerseys of Kerala Blasters and T20 Indian cricket team
Thrissur: It is through the hands of Muhammad Bilal, a Thrissur native, that designs of jerseys worn by major teams of India are developed. The 24-year-old is the brain behind the jersey worn by the new Kerala Blasters side and the Indian cricket team in the T20 cricket world cup.
After quitting mechanical engineering course, Bilal entered graphic design course and represented India at the 6th Euro Skills Competition in Hungary during September 2018 and bagged a certificate. In the India Skills competition 2018, he topped the event in the graphic designing category in the South India region. Bilal also represented India in international competitions and won globe awards.
Few people know that Mohammad Bilal and his team designed the jersey of the Indian team in T20 World Cup cricket. At the inauguration of India Skills 2021, Chairman Jaikanth Singh proudly presented the achievements of Bilal.
Bilal is a senior sportswear designer at renowned jersey maker SIX5SIX. The jerseys of about 10 football clubs in the country were designed by Bilal. His first exposure to designing came when he was studying in the ninth standard. The logo designed by him for the District Scout and Guide was eventually selected by the judges.
