Rafhan to enter Guinness Book with 426 stretch punches
Kozhikode: Rafhan Ummer from Kozhikode will soon enter the Guinness Book of Records thanks to his magical fists. Rafhan hit 426 blows on the punching pad in one minute in front of distinguished guests at the Krishna Menon Indoor Stadium on Saturday to better his own record.
The current Guinness World Record for stretch punches is held by Slovenia's Pavel Trusov. However, the 24-year-old Rafhan has already been included in the India Book of Records with 414 stretch punches. This in reality is higher than the Slovenian’s 334 punches per minute.
A video of the performance will be sent to Guinness World Records officials for their review. Minister Ahmed Devarkovil, Mayor Dr Beena Philip, Thottathil Raveendran MLA and others came to see his performance. Rafhan has been practising kung fu for eight years. His brother Rifin Ali is a state athlete and a professional boxer.
