Heart attack during train journey; former junior hockey player dies due to lack of treatment
Puducherry: A former national junior hockey player died during a train journey after suffering from heart attack. Kollam Palliman native Manu, passed away due to lack of treatment. The incident happened at Villianur railway station in Puducherry.
Relatives of the deceased alleged that when Manu suffered from chest pain, railway authorities denied him medical aid or any help.
Manu was a PG student at Pondicherry University. On September 6, Manu and his friend Nithin boarded the train to Kerala. In between the journey, Manu suffered chest pain. Nithin informed it to TTR on train.
TTR informed Nithin that medical help and ambulance will be arranged at the railway station. But even after half an hour at the station no help was provided.
Later with the help of natives here, an ambulance was arranged. But by the time it arrived, Manu died.
His family is planning to lodge complaint against railway authorities.
