Olympic medal winner PR Sreejesh lands in Kerala, receives warm welcome

Kochi: Olympic bronze medal-winning hockey player PR Sreejesh arrived in Kerala on Tuesday. Hundreds of youngsters were crowded at Kochi International Airport to offer a warm welcome to the player.

V Abdurahiman, minister for sports and representatives from State Sports Council, Olympic Association and Hockey Association were present at the airport. Sreejesh's family also arrived at the airport to receive him.

A group of eminent personalities from various sectors accompanied Sreejesh to his home town in Kizhakkambalam. He travelled in an open jeep receiving a warm welcome from the public.

Indian men's hockey team rewrote history and claimed an Olympic medal after 41 years, beating Germany 5-4 to claim the bronze in an edge-of-the-seat play-off match held on last Thursday.
