Sunitha and Archana
Koothattukulam (Ernakulam): A woman and her daughter made head turns by winning medals in the State Arm Wrestling Championship.Puthanpurayil Sunitha Baiju and her daughter Archana Baiju bagged gold and bronze medals by surprising all.
When Sunitha won gold, Archana won bronze in the tournament. They will participate in the national level championship which will be held in February in Hyderabad.
Sunitha won gold in the senior category for 70 kg left and right hands. Archana won bronze in the junior girls’ category for 70 kg left and right hands.
Interestingly, both represented Ernakulam district in the State level Arm Wrestling Championship held at Thrissur VKN Menon Indoor stadium.
Archana is a tenth grader in Koothattukulam Higher Secondary School. Sunitha was a silver medalist in the National Arm Wrestling championship of 2013 held in Punjab.
Baiju, father of Archana, was the Arm-Wrestling World Champion in 2013.
