Birmingham: In a historical moment, the Indian men's relay team qualified for the Men's 4x400m finals in the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Friday.

Malayali sprinters Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Noah Nirmal Tom, Muhammed Ajmal Variyathodi, along with Amoj Jacob, hailing from Delhi, booked a ticket to the finals by setting a new Asian record of 3:06:97 in the 4x400m relay heat. They finished second in the heats below Kenya and qualified for the finals.

National record holder quarter-miler Muhammed Anas Yahiya, who was the last to be named in the Indian squad for CWG, and his fellow Keralites in the relay team surprised everyone with their performance.
