KSEB contingent after finals of All-India Basketball Tournament

Kaputhala (Punjab): KSEB women's team defeated the current champions Eastern Railway Kolkotta(88-46), but the men's team lost to mighty Punjab Police (28-68) here in the finals of the 1st All-India S Balkar Singh Cheema Memorial Basketball Tournament, held at Dabulian village of Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala.

The winners received a cash price of 2 lakh while the runner-ups received 1. 5 lakh.

KSEB men's team beat Indian Railways (85-76) and Punjab Police defeated Indian Bank Chennai (65-44) to enter the final.

KSEB's Sreekala R was declared the Most Valuable player in the women's section in the tournament. She received a Honda Activa scooter. In the men's section, Amritpal Singh of Punjab Police received a Royal Enfield Motor Cycle.
