We are confident: KBFC skipper Jessel Carneiro about new ISL season
Kochi: Ahead of Kerala Blaster’s maiden ISL 2021-22 match on Friday, Kerala’s skipper Jessel Carneiro shared his thoughts on the team and the performance under coach Ivan Vukomanović the fans could expect.
“We are looking for all three points from the game and we were working very hard in training,” he said. Blaster's first match is against ATK Mohun Bagan.
The Indian international said that the team is eagerly awaiting the game, and is hoping to get the desired result they were working for.
“We had a very good pre-season. We learned more about our capabilities and areas for improvement. The coach is always available for help and builds confidence,” he said. The former Dempo left-back stated that he is very honoured to wear the captain armband and is thankful to the club for entrusting him with the responsibility.
Carneiro also captained Goa to the semi-finals of the Santosh Trophy in 2018-19. He signed for Kerala Blasters FC ahead of Hero ISL 2019-20 and established himself as an integral part of the defence. He also made five assists, which was the joint-most by a defender in the 2019-20 season.
