Malappuram: Manipur topped Group B by defeating Gujarat 2-0 in Santosh Trophy football tournament at Kottapadi Stadium on Thursday. This is Gujarat's second defeat in the tournament. With this, Gujarat's hopes of reaching the semi-finals were dashed.
Sudhir Laithonjam(47) scored a opening goal for Manipur before defender Siddharth Suresh(67) put the ball into his own net to take the score to 2-0.
Both teams made some changes to the starting eleven. Midfielder Sudhir Laithonjam found the target with a pass from Nagariyabam Janish Singh.
