Mumbai City hand Bengaluru first defeat of ISL season
Bengaluru: Mumbai City FC carved out a massive 3-2 victory against reigning champions Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Sunday.
An exciting and end to end game was full of incidents. There were goals, an own goal, a penalty saved another missed, everything barring a red card.
Subhasish Bose gave the visitors the lead in the 12th minute. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved a penalty from Mohamed Larbi to keep the score at 1-0 in the 45th minute. However, an own goal by Mato Gragic levelled the scoreline in the 58th minute.
Diego Carlos regained the lead for Mumbai in the 77th minute but Sunil Chhetri equalized from the spot in the 89th minute. Rowllin Borges scored the winner in the 4th minute of injury time.
The result lifted Mumbai up by two spots to 6th with 10 points from 8 games. Despite the loss, Bengaluru remained third with 13 points from 8 games.
