Kerala Blasters was held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Sudeva Delhi in their opening fixture in the Durand Cup 2022 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium on Friday.
Blasters took the lead in the 42nd minute through Ajsal. But conceded in less than three minutes after Kuki curled one into the top corner for Sudeva.
Sudeva started the game against a high attacking play from Blasters by showing some excellent defensive work. However, youngster Muhammed Ajsal scored the opening goal in the 42nd minute for Blasters with a sublime finish from outside the box. Sudeva responded immediately after going one down through Kuki's sensational strike in the 45th minute.
Blasters continued putting pressure on the Sudeva defence in the second half but failed to convert it into a goal.
