To answer his critics and regain his form, Indian star batter Virat Kohli is likely to be included in the squad for the forthcoming ODI series in Zimbabwe.

Earlier, the selectors opted to leave Kohli home when they announced the squad for India's tour to West Indies. The former skipper also missed the T20I series against South Africa.

However, sources revealed that selectors are keen to add the experienced batter to the mix with the hope that he could find his form in the field.

The ODI series against Zimbabwe will begin on August 18 and conclude on August 22 before the start of Asia Cup 2022 in Sri Lanka.

Kohli is enduring a wretched run with the bat and has failed to score a century since November 2019. He could manage just 76 runs from six innings across formats on England soil, which included the rescheduled fifth Test, two ODIs and as many T20s.
