Thiruvananthapuram: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, who arrived at the state capital on Thursday to attend the opening match of India's T20I series against South Africa, said that Kerala has the best stadium and the most pleasing spectators. He added that he has only good memories of playing in Kerala.
Ganguly said that Sanju Samson is a top player and is in the plans of BCCI for Team India. He reminded the media that Sanju is now a part of the ODI team and hinted at the Rajasthan Royals skipper will be playing for India against South Africa in the ODI series.
There were reports that Sanju would be elevated as vice-captain in the ODI series.
The BCCI president also lauded Rohan Kunnummal and Basil Thampi. Ganguly stated that more matches would be played in Kerala in the near future as per BCCI's rotation policy.
India's T20I series against South Africa will start on Wednesday with the first T20I in Green Field Stadium at Kariavattom in Thiruvananthapuram city on Thursday. It will be followed by two more matches on October 2 and 4. After this, three ODIs will be played from October 6 onwards.
