Manchester: India were off to the worst possible start against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final match here with openers Rohit Sharma, K. L. Rahul and captain Virat Kohli heading back to the pavilion with just 5 runs on the board.
It was a dream start for the Kiwis with pacers Trent Boult and Matt Henry dismissing the Indian top three in their first two overs. Henry dismissed the two Indian openers Rahul and Rohit while Boult claimed Kohli.
Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are at the crease with the Indian middle order exposed to the pace attack of the Kiwis. Technically speaking, the total is well within India’s reach, but the Kiwis have one of the most effective pace attack in the tournament.
