Potchefstroom: Bangladesh secured their maiden global cricket title with a three wicket win against India in the final of the ICC U-19 World Cup here on Sunday.

Replying to India's meagre score of 177, which was reset to 170 in 46 over after rain stopped play, Bangladesh reached the target with 23 balls to spare.

Opener Parvez Hossain Emon (47 off 79) and captain Akbar Ali (43 not out off 77) made telling contributions after bowlers led by Avishek Das did half the job earlier.
