Shot put gold for Haryana's Satyawan
Haryana's Satyawan bagged gold in shot put event for junior boys, setting new meet record. This is the fifth time he is taking part in the national school meet. Satyawan was the silver medallist in the previous meet held at Ranchi.
The Haryana lad cleared a distance of 17.41 m in his first throw itself. He had covered 16.98 m in Ranchi.
While Delhi's Kartikay bagged silver (17.15 m), Haryana's Mohit won btonze (16.65m).
Satyawan is a 10th standard student of Baba Khoobinath Senior Secondary School in Mithathil village of Bhiwani district in Haryana. His parents are Shreebhagwan and Sula, who are farmers.
"I feel very proud to have broken the meet record. I wish I could break the world record, some day," said Satyawan.
