Nadiad (Gujarat): Kerala girls continued their superb performance in the national senior school athletics meet here.
Kerala stayed on top with three more gold medals on the second day of the competition. So far Kerala has claimed four gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Aparna Roy bagged gold with a national record time of 13.91. Aparna smashed the previous record set by herself. Sandra babu, who cleared 5.97 meters in long jump bagged the second gold for Kerala. The other gold was awarded to the 4x100 meter relay team that included Aleena Verghese, Aparna Roy, Anjaly P D and Ancy Johnson who crossed the finish line in 47.58 seconds.
Meanwhile, Minnu P Roy bagged silver in the 1500-meter sprint. Her time was 4:45.08. Megha Mariam Mathew bagged bronze in shot-put clearing a distance of 13.63 meters. C K Sreeja claimed bronze in the 3000 meter walk at a time of 14:51.97.
