Hyderabad FC leading Odisha FC 1-0 at half time
Hyderabad FC were leading Odisha FC 1-0 at half time in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 at the Fatorda Stadium on Tuesday.
Halicharan Narzary scored the only goal in the 13th minute from a good pass from Liston Colaco.
Manuel Marquez had deployed Hyderabad in a 4-2-3-1 formation while Stuart Baxter deployed Odisha in a 4-4-2 formation. Hyderabad started the game well pressing Odisha into making mistakes and pushing men forward. It took them only 13 minutes to score.
Laxmikant Kattimani first showed his long kick skills and played a superb goal kick. The hoofed ball went into the middle of the park. Aridane Santana showed strength and awareness to flick his header behind and released Liston Colaco on the right. The young forward timed his run to perfection to get behind Odisha's backline. Liston dashed into the penalty box and attracted all the defenders towards him. Liston showed vision and selflessness as well. Rather than going for glory, he laid the ball on the plate for Halicharan Narzary who calmly side-footed it into the back of the net.
Halicharan Narzary nearly doubled the lead but his thunderous shot came straight back off the post. Liston Colaco forced Odisha goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh into a fine save from a free kick in the 43rd minute.
