Kochi: Giving relief to Keralites who are worked over the second Nipah outbreak in the state, Dr Anuroop Balagopal who is treating the Nipah affected college student stated that the patient’s condition is improving.
The doctor also added that service of expert doctors in India was being provided to the patient.
“His is still suffering from minor fever and is admitted at the isolation ward itself. The patient is having food without any problem. He can talk properly and recognise the people around him. But we are anxious as the fever is not completely cured. Compared to the last days, he is recovering from weakness,” said Dr Anuroop.
The student is under treatment at Aster Medcity in Kochi. When he was admitted to the hospital, he had symptoms including fever, respiratory problems and minor stroke.
At present the samples of six patients, who are suffering from fever and admitted to Kalamassery medical college were tested negative for Nipah virus.
