Kozhikode: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the centenary celebration of Mathrubhumi on Friday, March 18.
Mathrubhumi was born in 1923 in Kozhikode as a beacon of the freedom struggle, by upholding the values of ‘Truth, Equality and Freedom’. PM Modi will inaugurate the function, which is to be held at Calicut Trade Center (Sarovaram) at 10.30 am on March 18, via online mode.
The keynote address will be delivered by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan through online mode. Mathrubumi Managing Director M V Shreyams Kumar will deliver the introductory address.
P V Chandran, Chairman and Managing Editor of Mathrubhumi, will preside over the function. M T Vasudevan Nair will unveil the stone inscriptions.
Minister of State for External Affairs of India V Muraleedharan, Minister of Public Works of Kerala P A Mohammed Riyas, Kozhikode Mayor Dr Beena Philip, MP Rahul Gandhi (Online), MPs M K Raghavan, Elamaram Kareem, Malayala Manorama Managing Editor Jacob Mathew and Walt Disney Company India and Star India President K Madhavan adorn the list of guests.
