Kerala School Kalolsavam ends today; close fight for golden trophy

Kozhikode: The 61st Kerala State School Kalolsavam, which was organised after a hiatus of two years, will come to a close on Saturday. The closing ceremony will be inaugurated by opposition leader VD Satheesan at the main stage in Vikram Maidan, West Hill.

The programme will be presided over by organising committee chairman and tourism minister PA Mohamed Riyas.

General education minister V Sivankutty will present the golden cup to the district that scores the maximum number of points. The students will be awarded prizes by ministers and playback singer KS Chithra, the chief guest of the occasion.

The souvenir of the Kalolsavam will be unveiled by transport minister Antony Raju. Leaders including Elamaram Kareem MP, MK Raghavan MP, Kozhikode mayor Dr Beena Philip, organising committee working chairman Thottathil Ravindran MLA and general education principal secretary APM Mohammad Hanish among others will attend the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Kannur and Kozhikode are in a tight race for the golden trophy. Currently, Kozhikode is leading the battle, followed by Kannur and the reigning champions Palakkad.
