Security staff commits suicide over mental stress due to COVID-19
Shoranur: A security staff of State Bank was found hanging along with a note stating he was scared of the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic. The victim has been identified as Paruthipra native Jithukumar (46).
Jithukumar was found dead inside his wife’s home, which remained locked, with a suicide note. The letter stated that the pandemic was intimidating him and he was undergoing severe mental stress. As he is scared of people coming to his office, he feels he cannot live in a tied-up manner, unable to even speak to his friends. He also wished his wife and children to live happily, Circle Inspector K Hareesh said.
Jithukumar retired from the army 15 years back. He was on leave for the past four days. He was undergoing self observation at home. However, he went missing from Sunday morning at 6 am. Later he was found dead.
