Thiruvananthapuram: In two separate incidents, a person was drowned near Thumba and three individuals went missing while bathing in the sea near Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Two went missing in Puthenthope and another from Anchuthengu in Thiruvananthapuram.
Meanwhile, the rescuers have found the body of Franco, an Arattupuzha native, who drowned near Thumba.
The missing persons are Shreyas (16), Sajith (19) and Sajan Mathew (34).
It is learned that the missing persons visited the seaside to celebrate Christmas. However, the turbulent sea on Sunday led to the mishap, locals said.
The search operation resumed on Monday with the help of the Coast Guard to find other missing individuals.
