Thiruvalla (Pathanamthitta): A young man stunned the spectators by balancing a rotating steel plate on the tip of his finger continuously for more than two hours. Adoor Kadambanadu native R. Aswin (23) gave the performance in order to get a Guinness world record.
Aswin balanced the rotating steel plate on the middle finger of his right hand for 2 hours 3 minutes and 8 seconds. He used a plate that weighs 260 gram and has a diameter of 23 cm. The event was organised in the presence of two government officers and time watchers at Muthoor Sreebhadra Auditorium.
Many people had arrived at the venue to watch the performance. The present record in this event is held by Delhi native Himanshu Gupta who balanced a rotating plate for 1 hour 10 minutes and 3 seconds.
Aswin was inspired by a scene from the movie ‘Chandramughi’ in which Rajinikanth did a similar performance. Then he started practicing the art and tried balancing rotating notebook on finger when he was in class 6. As his friends and teachers encouraged him profoundly, Aswin focussed on practice.
Aswin has decided to send the video footage of the performance and certificate provided by the government officials who witnessed the same to Guinness authorities. He is son of Kadambanadu grama panchayat former member Babu Vezhuvelil and Thengamam higher secondary school teacher Indira Bhai.
