Yellow rain in Nedumbassery creates panic among public
Nedumbasserry: Leaving natives in panic, 6th ward in Nedumbassery panchayat has been receiving yellow rain for more than five days. The strange phenomenon was reported in the area between 6 am and 9 am.
The public stated that yellow rain drops are clearly visible on concrete surfaces, trees, plants, banana leaves and water tank.
“If we immediately wipe it out, it will vanish from the spot. But if these yellow drops are not cleared soon, it will turn pink colour for the next day,” said natives.
The yellow rain drops have bad odour too.
Former ward member CY Sabore forwarded a complaint to police, health department, agriculture department and village authority seeking a detailed probe into the phenomenon.
It is learned that an expert examination is necessary to identify the reason behind the yellow rain. People are curious as well as afraid to experience it.
