Kochi: Bhupathi’s voice fumbled when she uttered Abhimanyu’s name. Her eyes filled with tears when she saw her son on the big screen in Kochi. Bhupathi is the mother of Abhimanyu, a late Maharaja’s student and an SFI activist who was stabbed to death in a clash between SFI and Campus Front of India last year in the college campus in Kochi.
Bhupathi saw her son in the lead actor of the movie which was made over the life Abhimanyu. She watched it from the beginning to the end with watery eyes and never, not even once, took her eyes off the screen.
Parents of Abhimanyu came to Kochi from Vattavada to watch the first show of the movie made on their son’s life. The movie was titled a ‘Padmavyuhathile Abhimanyu’. But, both of them, started crying as soon as they saw their son’s character on the big screen.
Parents watched the movie along with Wayanad native Akash who acted the character of Abhimanyu in the movie. Besides Akash, two other actors of the movie Anand Murali and Shruthi were also with them.
The movie produced by a WhatsApp group named RMCC was directed by Vineesh Aradhya. Veteran actor Indrans has acted in the role of Abhimanyu’s father. Late CPM leader Simon Britto also has acted in the movie.
‘Padmavyuhathile Abhimanyu’ has been released in 40 theatres across Kerala. A portion of income from the movie would be used for keeping the memories of Abhimanyu alive, said RMCC admin Sunil Datt.
