Thrissur: As women, between the ages of 18 and 43 circled past the Thrissur round to Thalikkulam via Puzhakkal, the locals turned their heads to the cruising bullets they rode- on their ride to freedom.
With women from various facets of life including students, home makers and working women, the Thrissur chapter of the Kerala First Women's Bullet Club took off to a graceful start on Saturday.
Founded by Shiny Raj Kumar from Kovalam, the club had its first Thrissur meet up on Saturday and soon 32 women took off on 16 bullets. Aimed at promoting women's mobility and promotion of their participation and presence in public places, the club was brought to Thrissur by riding enthusiasts, Sanju Rajan, Sandra, Akhitha, Soja and Mini.
"Despite clubs taking shape across Kerala, apart from Thiruvananthapuram where the 35 member club rides every two weeks, it was Thrissur that came forward for a ride", says Shiny. She expressed hope that new roads and distances will soon be explored as the membership expands in Thrissur.
