This woman waits for the boy who found his motherly love in her 20 years ago
Guruvayur: Leena, a native of Chavara in Kollam has been waiting for the boy who ran towards her and hugged her 20 years ago at Guruvayur temple. She still keeps the photographs of the boy clicked at the temple.
“There was a huge rush in the temple when we visited 20 years ago. My husband Anil, our daughters Neethu and Geethu, also accompanied us. When we were in the queue, I found the boy who came with his grandfather and grandmother. He approached and wrapped me in his little arms. He asked me to lift him. When I took him in my arms, he lay close to my chest. Noticing this, his grandmother told me that he is son of her daughter who was killed in a bike accident. She added that I have similarities to his mother and that’s why he became close to me. She broke into tears when she narrated it,” explained Leena.
Leena and family had darshan and offered ‘Thulabharam’ with the boy and his family. Her daughters and the boy turned good friends too. They clicked photos together at the temple. While leaving the temple, Leena collected their address and promised that the photos will be sent to them. But she failed to send the photos as the address she collected from them was missing.
“I don’t know their house and place. They are from Thrissur district. This is the only information about them,” said Leena.
She is working as a teacher at Nedumangad SNV Higher Secondary School.
On the occasion of Brother’s Day which is celebrated on May 24, Leena’s elder daughter Neethu penned an emotional post on her Facebook page.
In the post, she expressed her wish to meet the brother from another mother whom she met at the temple. She also added that her mother is waiting for him and will hand over the old photos if he comes to meet them. She also provided her phone number in the post.
The boy will be a youth now. His sisters also grew up. They won’t be able to identify each other. But they are still waiting for him.
