Thief leaves note of apology after stealing Rs 67,000 from Malappuram house
Edappal (Malappuram): In a strange incident, a thief who stole money from a house left a handwritten note apologising for his act. The incident took place at the house of Shamseer.
“I have taken Rs 67,000 from the almirah. It is for a very urgent purpose. I will return it soon. Forgive me,” wrote the thief. Names of some of the family members have been mentioned in the letter which indicates that the thief might be a familiar person to the family.
Shamseer had pledged gold ornaments to get the money for meeting an urgent need. The robbery took place before the family members went to bed. This indicates the thief was aware that there was money inside the house. While leaving the house, the thief kept the letter there.
The letter reads like this: “Forgive me Shamseer. I have taken money from your house. I'm not well now and I'm not mentioning who I am. We both know each other well. Shamna was bathing when I reached here. Your mother was there in the house. I am placing this letter here. I will return the cash soon. But please give me some time for that. Nobody in my home knows this. It is for a very urgent need. It is difficult for me to even walk now. Please forgive me”.
Changaramkulam police have initiated a probe based on Shamseer’s complaint.
