Taxi driver turns mask seller for a livelihood amid lockdown
Ernakulam: The lockdown over coronavirus outbreak has changed the life of many people. Ernakulam native Jijo who is the state treasurer of Online Drivers Union is one among many people struggling to make both ends meet.
This man has turned a face mask seller as he went jobless after the government banned public transport amid the pandemic outbreak. His taxi itself turned a mobile shop for face masks.
Jijo have to pay Rs 9500 as monthly EMI for his car. Along with this financial burden, house rent should be paid every month.
“I won’t get money to meet even the daily expenditure by operating the taxi service. I am forced to sell mask to feed my family,” said Jijo.
Jijo has to take care of his big family including wife, two children and aged parents.
