Suresh Gopi appreciates Devika who secured full A plus with legs
Devika’s victory was a unique one. Born with no hands, Devika wrote her SSLC examination with her legs. She only passed the exams with full A Plus and became a star of her school – Malappuram Vallikkunnu CBHS school.
Actor and MP Suresh Gopi visited her home and showered Devika with appreciation. He touched her legs with which she wrote the exam as part of his appreciation. Suresh Gopi, who is also a candidate from Thrissur constituency representing NDA, shared this news through his Facebook page.
Devika was taught to write with her hands by her father Sajeevan and her mother Sujitha. She had the provision of using a scribe for her exams but Devika took up the challenge and did not wait for help from others. She secured A plus in every subject, becoming a role model for others.
Not only being brilliant in her academics, Devika is also a brilliant artist. There was also an exhibition of her paintings done with her legs at Kozhikode Art gallery. She aspires to take up humanities at higher secondary and join civil service one day.
Her father Sajeev is a senior civil police officer at Thenjipalam. Devika has a brother Gautham who is in fourth standard.
