Stray dogs maul 135 fouls, 37 ducks at Kayamkulam
Kayamkulam: In yet another episode of stray dog menace in the state, a pack of stray dogs killed 135 fouls and 37 ducks at a poultry breeding centre in Krishnapuram. It is reported that a pack of 8 dogs tore apart the net which was used to shield the birds and mauled them. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening.
As it was raining heavily, the owner failed to hear the screams of his pet birds. Susheelan started the poultry centre by borrowing loans from the bank. He was faring well in his farming as the hens were producing eggs continuously. It was reported that two days ago, street dogs killed eight chickens in Madhu's house.
The stray dog menace is a regular sight in the village. A group of dogs have earlier attacked 3 women who went to Kurukav temple at Krishnapuram panchayat.
A couple who were travelling in a scooter hit a stray dog when it leaped in front of the scooter and sustained severe injuries.
