State Arts Fest: Candidate takes ambulance to reach venue from airport
Kanhangad: Ending tensions, Syama finally flew from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur airport with her dance teacher Siddhartha and boarded the ambulance that awaited her. She managed to reach the group dance competition venue at the State School Youth Festival in the ambulance.
Syama's six other friends could let out a sigh of relief only after she reached the spot. The girls would be able to perform group dance only if Syama joined the seven-member team of Pattom St. Mary’s HS School.
Being an NCC cadet, Syama was included in the selection list of participants in the Republic Day Parade. The final inspection of the parade was being held at Peroorkada NCC camp. The inspection was scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Though the students and teachers requested, the authorities informed that they cannot exempt Syama alone. But Syama wanted to take part in both NCC parade and arts festival. At last, they allowed to her to leave in the evening. With this, her parents booked flight ticket to take her to the festival venue.
The youth festival organisers also cooperated with the mission. Thus, an ambulance was arranged at Kannur airport and Syama travelled to the venue in it. The judges also waited for the team to get ready with Syama.
