School boy invents 'food serving robot' for just Rs 600 to help mother
Eramangalam (Malappuram): The inventions of a ‘young scientist’ who is studying in class eight have stunned everyone. Muhammed Fadhil Basheer hailing from Veliyankode has already made several electronic devices in this young age.
When the schools were closed during the Covid-19 lockdown, Fadhil had to spend more time indoors, he decided to develop a food serving robot to help his mother. He used cardboard, IR sensor and Arduino to make the robot. He took only three days to make the robot and spent mere Rs 600 for it.
The robot is capable of walking from the kitchen to the dining hall using sensor. It receives food in bowls from kitchen and serve it to the people sitting in the hall. After having food, the robot also carries the bowls back to kitchen.
Fadhil studied in India International School in Saudi Arabia from LKG to class four. He made a fan for the first time when he was in class one. As father Abdul Basheer and mother Rukhsana encouraged his talent, the boy later made several equipment such as magnetic lamp, incubator and obstacle avoiding robot.
When the family later moved to Kerala, Fadhil was admitted in Ideal School in Kadakassery here. His teachers also encouraged him to continue with the inventions. During the Covid situation, Fadhil had developed an automatic sanitizer dispenser too. He wants to become a scientist at the ISRO.
